AMORPHOPHALLUS KONJAC 'MYOGI YUTAKA'

ORIGIN:

Gunma Prefectural Agricultural Experiment Station, from a cross of Gunkei No. 26 (a selfed line of the Chinese type) as the female parent and Tomioka Shina (a Chinese-type line) as the male parent; registered in 2001 as Konnyaku Norin No. 3

CULTIVAR DESCRIPTION:

A late Japanese konjac variety, as late as the Chinese type, whose slow sprouting delays emergence and leaf opening.¹ Its corm enlargement is similar to that of 'Haruna Kuro', its flour quality is good, and it resists disease; it is now grown on a small area and used for fresh-corm processing.²
