ORIGIN:

Developed in India by A.N.G. Ranga Agriculture University as a food crop (Plant Delights' account)

CULTIVAR DESCRIPTION:

An elephant foot yam variety of Amorphophallus paeoniifolius that Plant Delights describes as non-acrid and edible, with a smooth 5-foot stalk mottled green with white splotches.¹ The flower is produced once the corm reaches about 8 inches across.¹ It was grown alongside 'Sree Padma' in planting-time trials at ICAR-Central Tuber Crops Research Institute, where both gave about 27 tonnes per hectare when planted on time.² An Indian government compendium lists it among elephant foot yam varieties.³
