ARUM ’LOVE CHILD’

PARENTAGE:

Arum italicum x Arum dioscoridis

SYNONYMS:

Arum diotalicum

HYBRIDIZER:

Jupiter Botanical Garden

NOTES:

1. The name Arum × diotalicum, applied to the cross between Arum italicum and Arum dioscoridis, has never been validly published and has no nomenclatural standing. The cross itself is real; only the name is unavailable.¹

2. Plant Delights Nursery reported a cross between the same two species in July 2010: Tony Avent described the nursery’s hybrid of Arum dioscoridis × Arum italicum, of which it had several clones, and gave the best clone the tentative name Arum ‘Diosco Duck’. He did not say whether that clone is Arum ‘Love Child’.³

OVULE PARENT:

Arum italicum

POLLEN PARENT:

Arum dioscoridis
