STORY:

STORY TITLE: Thirteen seedlings from Mexican seed

In 2020 and 2021 Gijs Lamers grew Monstera deliciosa from seed collected in Mexico, and early in 2022 picked out about thirteen distinct forms among the seedlings. Each was propagated by cuttings to see whether its growth pattern held, and some four years later this one had kept its extremely round, thick leaves, larger than other deliciosa forms and with fewer fenestrations, and even its internodes are round.¹ It is named for those round leaves, and was released in 2025.¹
