SYNGONIUM TRIPHYLLUM 'LANCETILLA'

CULTIVAR DESCRIPTION:

A clone of Syngonium triphyllum pictured by Graf in Exotica without a description.¹ The name presumably refers to the Lancetilla Botanical Garden in Honduras, whose plantings supplied many ornamentals to the trade, but no published account of its origin has been found.

NOTES:

1. Uncertain identity: This name is known only from A. B. Graf's books, which picture the plant without describing it, and no other source for it has been found. Lancetilla is a valley and botanical garden in Honduras, so the name may record where a wild Syngonium triphyllum was collected rather than a selected cultivar. The photograph on Exotica 3 page 228 shows broader leaves than the other two and may not be the same clone.
