AMORPHOPHALLUS KIUSIANUS × AMORPHOPHALLUS HENRYI

PARENTAGE:

Amorphophallus kiusianus × Amorphophallus henryi

HYBRIDIZER:

Tony Avent

DESCRIPTION:

Tony Avent reported this as a putative hybrid in August 2025. Amorphophallus kiusianus usually sets seed with its own pollen, so a cross is hard to confirm; the evidence is the fruit, which on this plant is always blue, as in Amorphophallus henryi, where Amorphophallus kiusianus fruit starts pink and turns blue.¹

NOTES:

1. Tony Avent: Amorphophallus kiusianus (ovule) × Amorphophallus henryi (pollen), putative; reported 2025.¹
