SCINDAPSUS PICTUS 'SILVER SPLASH'

ORIGIN:

Proven Winners leafjoy, Shimmering Falls series

CULTIVAR DESCRIPTION:

Dark green leaves generously splashed with silvery mottling, a more intense variegation than that of 'Sage and Cream'; a climbing or trailing plant to 1.8 m.¹ The North Carolina Extension Gardener Plant Toolbox lists it as Shimmering Falls Silver Splash, with dark green leaves and silver mottling, and Moody Blooms describes a plant very like 'Exotica' but with a more delicate silver variegation that almost fades into the green.²,³

VARIEGATED FORMS:

'Janut Kuning', submitted to the IAS Aroid Cultivar Registry by Bachtiar Simanullang as a form of Silver Splash from Mount Salak in West Java, has not been accepted.⁴

NOTES:

STATUS - A market name. Not yet accepted by the International Aroid Society. As of September 2026 the IAS Aroid Cultivar Registry holds no record of this name at all - neither accepted nor declined - and there is no plant patent. The name is recorded from nursery and trade sources and is not validly established.

1. Sold under the Shimmering Falls trademark of Proven Winners' leafjoy houseplant line, which lists the plant as Scindapsus × without naming a species; the North Carolina Extension Gardener Plant Toolbox places it under Scindapsus pictus.¹,²

2. Trade usage of the name is loose: JOMO Studio applies 'Silver Splash' to the Mount Salak plant, and 'Silver Cloud' is offered both as a second name for 'Silver Splash' and as a cultivar of its own.⁵,⁶
