SYNGONIUM PODOPHYLLUM 'BERRY ALLUSION'

ORIGIN:

Agri-Starts, Inc., Apopka, Florida

CULTIVAR DESCRIPTION:

Selected for its prolific suckering, a self-heading plant that fills a pot as well as any Syngonium on the market and is among the fastest growers through winter.¹ In 2004 it was described as white fading to green from the center of the leaf, with light red veins.²

NOTES:

1. One of the tissue-culture sports released by Agri-Starts and listed among Florida's new Syngonium cultivars in 2002.⁴

2. Unconfirmed: Hatch distinguishes two plants under the name, the older retail stock heavily suffused berry pink over a white overlay and the current Agri-Starts offering a yellowish cream with a thin berry-pink midrib.³
