SYNGONIUM PODOPHYLLUM 'BOB ALLUSION'

ORIGIN:

Agri-Starts, Inc., Apopka, Florida

CULTIVAR DESCRIPTION:

A tetraploid selection with large, thick, platter-shaped leaves and vivid pink veins, slower than the diploids but very hardy and well suited to interiors and dish gardens.¹ Compact, and very like 'Bold Allusion' except that the olive coloring extends from the margins into the blade.² Few shoots but the second-largest leaves in the 1993 trial, recorded as green and olive-green with red veins.³

NOTES:

1. An Agri-Starts tissue-culture sport listed among Florida's new cultivars in 2002.⁴

2. Unconfirmed: Hatch gives its origin as a tetraploid of 'Pink Allusion'.⁵
